Question by CA Bound: What would you do. Question about the housekeeper I hired.?
I hired a maid and am very disappointed.
The dishes she hand washed were filthy. Two of the bows had food all over the inside and I had to re wash every piece of silverware, as they also had food crusted on them. This was very embarrassing when I was serving my dinner guest this evening. I am still confused as why she would hand wash when we have a dishwasher.
There were small pieces (size of a quarter) left in the living room and my bedroom after she vacuumed. She also left my vacuum full of dirt.
In the bathrooms she only cleaned the top of the facet but not around. So as I sat to use the toilet and looked up I could see that the facet was still filthy and had toothpaste on it.
My bed was poorly made. She only laid down the sheets and blanket, but didn’t even tuck it in or line up the top of the sheet with the mattress.
In her list of things she does in an initial cleaning she listed that she cleans out the microwave and wipe down the cupboards, but this was also not done. My dining room table was also dirty.
I was also shocked that she did not take out the garbage, as I have never had a housekeeper not do this.
I am also upset that she came to my home over an hour earlier then I had scheduled her to. I asked her to arrive at a certain time and only left my key under the mat just incase I was running a few minutes behind. I still have a very high doubt that she was here the full 3 hours. (I came home when she was supposed to have just arrived)
Overall I must say that she did a very poor job, and honestly out of all the housekeepers I have hired she did the nastiest job.
I paid her $ 15 per hour by check and almost tempted to cancel it, but know that would be wrong. I left her an e-mail with my disappointment but she has not written me back. I left a review on her webpage as well.
What do you think I should do?
If I had the time to clean house then I would have hired a housekeeper. I live with 3 men, I cant keep cleaning up after them.

Just forget it and don’t call her back.
